On this day we joyfully play. We laugh, we sing, we shout hooray. But the way we do thing in this time, the ones who gave us freedom, would see a crime.
They fought against unfair the unfair things. Said we need not listen to kings. They bravely sought to fly with eagles wings. No matter the hell the battle brings.
They chose to take a stand, against the unfair man. They fought for freedom, for liberty. Yet in this day we’ve gave it away.
Taxed to the point of tears. Addicted to games and oil, for them we sweat and toil. We gave up our joy, and gave in to our fears. Slavery is still so very near.
Maybe not in the ways of old. But if you think it’s still quite bold. The freedoms we have we gave up quickly. Tyranny still has us in it’s hold.
We sing and dance and play our part. We shoot the fireworks, watch the sparks. We think that we are free indeed. But that’s not true, in chains we be.
