I assumed you would be true to your word. That everything would be as what I had heard.
I assumed you cared, that joy would be shared. But it seems that misery would be my share, for this thing that I dared.
I thought you would be here for your children, that you wanted them around. But you cut and run away, and are no where to be found.
They cry in the night, shiver full of fright. They want their mother in their life, but she is nowhere in sight.
You cut your losses, ran away. Wanted nothing but to laugh and play. Leaving them with just me, so that you could be free.
It’s not been easy, that is true. The trials the hardships, the battles that ensue. But it does not matter to me one bit. Your not here, so don’t pitch a fit.
You’ve not been here to wipe their tears. To hold them close and face their fears. You’ve not been here to see their smiles, feel their joy shining bright.
So while it’s hard, more than most can bear. I love the life I live I swear. I see their lives everyday, shining brightly to have the way.
I’m assumed you would be there, that for them you would care. But you did not so go away. Some try to come back, to pretend or play. Your.not their parent this I can say.
