I love you more than you will ever know.
Far more than I’ll ever be able to show.
I held you tight when you were born, so tiny and frail.
Such a perfect sight, it filled me with utter delight.
I saw you open your eyes so bright,
They were filled with the purest light.
I heard your voice when you screamed and wailed.
I thought my heart would surely fail.
I watched you learn, I watched you grow.
Was there when you needed to know.
How to walk, how to crawl.
We laughed and played, had such a ball,
Even when you would fall.
I picked you up and hugged you tight.
You were my shining light.
Now you growing up so fast,
I wished you’d stay small but was not to last.
But no matter how big you grow,
My love for you, my children, will never slow
