Sanity departs in unexpected times.
When things happen that can break your mind.
We block out it, hide from the sight.
As inside it grows, a festering blight.
It eats at up, seeking every chance,
To take out bodies, in a cruel dance.
It echoes through the heart and soul.
Waiting to send us into despair and woe.
It is the madness that creeps within,
A force so great that against it, we shall never win.
It patiently waits, until the time is right,
Strikes with fever, in the deepest night.
Overwhelms the mind, tears out the heart.
It breaks the soul, ripping it a part.
Can we fight it? Do we even dare,
Or do we let madness take us? And know not despair.
