Where Poems Fly, Through Starry Skies.

Victory Crown

I fought the fight, one most bitter

Struggled onward for I am no quitter.

Even as others proved to be such heavy hitters

I kept my head held high

Eyes on the endgame, the golden prize.

Finally, the years have gone by

The day has come, with relief I sigh.

The battle is over, I’ve finally won

Though now the hardest part has begun.

No longer do I drive back and forth

Wondering if your cared for.

No longer do I sadly depart

Leaving behind part of my heart.

My princess. My little one.

You here now to stay.

With your father every day.
