Where Poems Fly, Through Starry Skies.

Forgotten

Surrounded by iron. Caged by steel

The earth bows low, she’s made to kneel.

Brought to heel by mankind’s greed

The desire for things we do not need.

Concrete structures towering high

They piece the heavens tear the sky

No longer blue no longer at peace

Smoke billows in waves from the factory stacks

We breathe on poison, is it any wonder we cough or hack

We are constantly under attack.

The oceans are rancid with the spoils of man.

Black in places from the oil we spill

Does it matter some will cry, why even bother, why must we try.

Why clean this up. Why make it better.

There is no progress here, nothing to be saved.

They have forgotten the times of old

When man this world first did roam.

The way the oceans gave up life

The way the forests sheltered at night.

The way we backed in dawns first light.

When progress began all this was forgot

And the world now slowly rots.

About Me

A Simple man who dreams of being an Author one day. A lover of poems and stories of all types. A dreamer and a tale weaver in my spare time. What little I have as a father of three. Come sit by the fire, and let me spin my tales, let me speak my rhymes, and show you, a quite good time.
