You were here when I was young
Far back before my life had begun.
You were here to give me love
To laugh and play beneath stars above.
You were here when I felt pain
To comfort me in your loving way.
To keep the misery at bay.
To bake cookies to tell stories
To listen to my tales.
Finding ways to make me laugh
When others alway fail.
I thought you would live forever
It seemed that way to me.
But time is cruel the world to, it was not meant to be.
Now you grow closes to the summer lands
Headed towards eternity.

A grandchild to his grandmother
