Cool winds blow through rustling leaves
As the summer heat comes with the breeze
Often we wish for it to stay away please
So we can have a day of ease.
Yet nature does not listen to man
It does not bow to our demands
It cares little for our greatest plans
As its own will it thrusts upon us anyways.
The heat will come, perhaps with rains.
Torrential storms to water the plains.
Wild winds howling without shame
Thunderous booms with lightning ablaze.
Nature comes in her own way
No matter how we wish to hold her at bay.
We will either bend and sway
Or be crushed beneath the driving day
