Do you feel alright

Do you feel delight

Away from terror and fright

Stepping forward into the light.

Is it safe here, away from the chaos

Away from the pain and memories of the past.

They fade slowly and grow weaker, but they will always last.

You’ve removed yourself from the world at large

Hidden away, a refuge none may find

Safe at last, you think your fine

No longer struggling with the daily grind.

You can breathe

You can think

Never again hear, you need a shrink.

Never again held to the brink

You’ve found peace.
