Where Poems Fly, Through Starry Skies.

Waiting

Can’t you see what you’ve done

The choices you’ve made, the end you’ve begun.

The hearts you have broken

The tears that have been shed.

By young ones who want only love instead.

They wanted your smiles

They wanted your time

Yet you turned away, said it’s all mine.

They don’t understand. They think it’s their fault

That you walked away, no longer wishing to be a mother.

I fill the roll the best I can

Try so hard to be what they need

To give them the love you denied

To give them the time that they deserve

To be both father and mother

While you walk away
